Q. Is it possible to register just
for the keynote presentation or for a single day?
A. The value of the entire conference is such that registration
for a single presentation is not offered. We encourage delegates
to plan on attending the entire event so as to benefit from the
wide variety of presentations offered. If there are still tickets
available at the end of June, some one day tickets may be made available
at the discretion of the Conference Committee.
Q. Will you accept a late proposal/workshop
for presentation at your conference?
A. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept late proposals for the
conference. However, we do hope that you will consider participating
in the conference as a delegate.
Q. How can I find out more about what kind
of presentations might be at the conference?
A. We suggest that you review the abstracts from previous conferences. Just go to http://www.ierg.net/confs/index.php and click on the year that you are interested in.
Q. Do you provide child care?
A. Delegates are responsible for making their own childcare arrangements
Q. I have lost my registration receipt
- can I get another one?
A. You may request a lost receipt by emailing conferences@ierg.net.
Q. Do you publish proceedings from the
International Conferences on Imagination and Education?
A. Yes. As papers are submitted by the presenters they will be made
available online at http://www.ierg.net/confs/papers.php?cf=2.
Previous year's proceedings may be accessed here.
Q. Does the Coast Plaza have special room
rates for conference participants?
A. Yes. Please refer to the accommodations
link for rate information.
Q. Are the rooms at the conference venue
easily accessible to people with disabilities?
A. There are elevators to the conference level available from both
the parking level and the lobby level. The rooms will be set up
a variety of formations such as roundtables, row seating etc. If
you require particular or specific types of access, please contact
the Coast
Plaza Hotel and confirm any arrangements that need to be made
for you. You may also like to email the Conference Organizer at conferences@ierg.net
Q. How can I get in touch with other presenters
at the conference? How can I arrange a meeting with someone at the conference?
A. A list of participating delegates is included in the registration
package. Delegates may choose to be excluded from this list when
they register. There will also be a notice board beside the registration desk in the Conference Foyer so that delegates may leave notes for each other.
Q. Is there a place for me to make photocopies
at or near the conference venue?
A. The hotel has a business centre. Arrangements to make
photocopies can be made there. In addition, there is a business
centre that operates in the shopping mall below the Hotel.
Q. I'm not staying at the Coast Plaza
Hotel. Will there be a space there that I can access to do some
work?
A. There is no formal space offered for people not staying at the
Coast Plaza. However, it is likely that the hotel you're staying
at might offer such services. If time and space permits, there will also be rooms and times reserved for 'Networking'. Just check the final conference schedule for the conference you are attending.
Q.How many people come to the conference? How many people can I expect at my session?
A. We have found that there has been an average of between 350 and 400 people at the conference each year. You can expect between 15 and 30 delegates at your session on average and depending on what delegates that year perceive as valuable. We cannot guarantee a minimum or maximum number of participants.
Q. I have special dietary needs; can I
make arrangements for this?
A. Absolutely. Please indicate this during the registration and arrangements
will be made accordingly. You may also email our Conference Organizer in confidence at conferences@ierg.net
Q. Are breakfast, lunch and/or supper included in the conference registration fees?
A. To keep registration costs as low as possible, we have chosen to provide a light snack in the morning and in the afternoon. Delegates are asked to make arrangements for their own main meals. The Wednesday evening opening includes a buffet style reception with light food choices. In addition, there are optional evening events on Thursday and Friday which include a meal in the price.
Q. Can I register on-site?
A. There are a limited number of on-site registrations. Please download
this form, fill it out and bring it with you to expedite your registration. Note that registration fees go up for onsite registrations.
Q. I might not be able to make it
until the second or third day of the event. Will the conference/registration
desk be open only on the first day of the conference?
A. We do prefer that people register on the first evening of the conference so that all delegates have ample time to get seated for the Thursday morning Keynote Session. Conference staff will be available to help you
throughout the conference. Registration hours are:
Wednesday: 3:00 - 6:00 pm
Thursday: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Friday: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Saturday: 8:00 am – 1:00 pm
Q. Are there restaurants at or near the
conference venue?
A. Yes, there are many excellent restaurants near the conference
venue. Information about some such choices will be enclosed in your
registration folder.
Q. Will there be information on the work
of the IERG available on site?
A. Yes, information on the IERG and its work will be available
at the conference. There will be pamphlets, our newsletter, etc.
available at the registration desk. You could also talk with various
IERG associates at the conference if you like. You might be interested
