This session is intended specifically for academic researchers (faculty, postdocs, students, and staff) whose work engages with issues of imagination and education. Founded a year ago, IRNIE aims to advance theory, research methods, and educational praxis through collaboration across national and disciplinary boundaries. The session will begin with a review of IRNIE initiatives as they have developed over the past twelve months. Participants will have the opportunity to explore particular projects and themes (including the development of curriculum and pedagogy, the education of marginalized groups, and teacher preparation) in greater detail in smaller groups, with a view to developing new forms of collaboration. The session will close with a discussion of the network's ongoing development, including plans to hold conferences and workshops in various parts of the world.
