Educational Perspectives
We are pleased to announce that the next issue of the journal Educational Perspectives will be a special issue devoted to Imaginative Education.
The guest editor for the issue is Geoff Madoc-Jones, a faculty member at Simon Fraser University and a long-time IERG associate (or at least as long-time as a 5.6 year old organization can have.) The issue is made up of an introduction to IE, taken in part from Owen Tyer's Brief Guide .
The central section is made up of four articles by teachers who took the first course in the Surrey M.Ed. program in Imaginative Education---Caitlyn James, Jarrett Wilke, Kelly Han, and Asia Wilson. There is then a substantial example of an IE unit on the "Wonders of the Water Cycle" designed by Margo Hrennikoff, who graduated from the first of our IE M.Ed. programs. The issue concludes with an article by Natalia Gajdamaschko on "Vygotsky on the development of the imagination."
We will be buying extra copies of this issue of Educational Perspectives and will make them available for cost when we receive them.
