New Introduction to IE Resource kits available.
We are putting the final finishing touches to our new “Introduction to Imaginative Education: Resource materials.”
This is a kit designed to provide many of the resources an instructor or teacher might want in order to introduce IE to others. It also provides suggestions for the best use of those resources, based on our experience. At the moment we have produced a limited set of these kits so that we can learn from others’ experience in using them. We will then do a final revision and publish the kit in a professional form.
We are looking for people who would be interested in receiving a copy of the kit to try out. Ideally we would like to hear from teachers who might be doing a pro-d. activity or instructors in college courses who might want to include a module on IE, or others who might want to introduce IE to teachers or educational administrators.
The Resource package includes sufficient handouts, etc, for 25 people; it also has a DVD from which extra copies of all the materials can be copied. It includes activities, games, audio and video materials, planning frameworks, and much else.
If you would like a copy of the kit, free—but we expect you to provide us with feedback on your use of it for our revision purposes—please send an email to ierg-ed@sfu.ca.

On the DVD you will find a QuickTime file called “Twist-TIE Game.mov.” This gives clear instructions for how the game is to be used. We recommend showing this QuickTime movie—it works exactly like a Keynote or PowerPoint presentation, moving one frame ahead with each click of your mouse. Make sure the participants follow each step. You should organize the participants into groups of at 4 to 6 members for optimal use. One box of cards may be split into two for use at two separate tables. You will need one box of cards for every 12 players.
13. 4 sets of the Tool Card Shuffle Activity
On the DVD you will find a QuickTime file called “Tool Card Shuffle.mov.” This gives clear instructions for how the activity is to be used. We recommend showing this QuickTime movie—again, it works exactly like a Keynote or PowerPoint presentation, moving one frame ahead with each click of your mouse. Make sure the participants follow each step.
