Bio:
Stephen Campbell is an Assistant Professor in Mathematics Education at Simon Fraser University. Sen is interested in the nature and development of mathematical thinking. To this end he studies ways in which mathematical and philosophical thinking in the history of Western culture can inform research and practice in mathematics education. He is particularly interested in the role of imagination in the cultivation of mathematical understanding. Philosophically, his thinking falls in the phenomenological tradition of Kant, Husserl, and Merleau-Ponty. He is of the mind that imagination is more important than knowledge, and he likes hats.Reconnecting mind and world: Enacting a (new) way of life. In S. J. Lamon, W. A. Parker, & S. K. Houston (Eds.)
